Jumpstart your poetry in this playful, supportive workshop. We’ll do a lot of breakthrough exercises—childhood memories, surrealism, persona—and have fun coming up with pages of new material. We’ll also explore craft, language, voice, rhythm, and repetition.

About Ellery Akers

Ellery Akers has taught writing at Cabrillo College and San Francisco State University, and has been teaching private workshops since 1989. She has been on the faculty at Squaw Valley Writer's Conference, Humboldt State University Nature Writing Conference, and Foothill College Writing Conference, among others.
